Question: Does the name you choose have to be of an arabic descent ? I like the name Jayla but i was wondering whether or not i would able to use that name. It is typically used by african americans and means one who is special. Are we able to pick any name for our child as long as it has good meaning?
Answer:
You are not required to give your children Arabic names; rather you may choose any name as long as it is not pagan sounding or denotes meanings repugnant to Islamic sensibilities.
