Question: Assalaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullah.. am going to perform an introduction ceremony where i will be presenting myself to the parents of my to be wife...not a wedding .. its culture in my country to do b4 you get married but i want to know if its possible to do it during the moth of Ramadan.. thanks
Answer:

There is nothing wrong for you in following this custom--provided you shun unnecessary wastage and destructive customs, if any, associated with them. Customs are customs; and they are acceptable as long as they are free of violations of Islamic principles.

It is equally fine to do it during the month of Ramadhan. It goes without saying: whereas the marriage contract can be made during the daytime  in Ramadhan, the consummation of marriage has to wait until the fast is broken.
