Question: Can married women wear anklets in public
Answer:

This is a contentious issue among scholars: While one group of scholars allows it, the majority of scholars are of the view that women are not allowed to wear anklets in public.  The first group considers it as part of the outward beauty or charm that women are allowed to display as stated in the verse, "they should not display their charm --other than what must ordinarily show." They say: the above verse stipulates an exception in regard to face, hands, anklets and the feet; the majority, however, insist on that the anklets and feet are not included in the exception.

Regardless of the above differences, the scholars are unanimous in insisting that women are not to invite attention to themselves by the way they carry themselves, etc.

It is worth remembering that we are responsible for the messages that we send to others, by the way we attire as well as by our manners. I pray to Allah to make us all instruments of guidance.
