If a woman has her monthly cycle during her stay in Makkah or Medina whilst on the Hajj pilgrimage, is it completely impermissible for her to enter the Masjid Al-Haram (whether in Makkah or Medina)? It seems most of the scholars are of the opinion that it is impermissible. However, we know that the Prophet (saw) allowed a woman who cleaned the al-Masjid al-Nabawi (Prophet’s mosque in Madinah) to actually put up a tent inside where she could stay and preserve her privacy. Could you please clarify this issue for us?
